These Patchwork Christmas Pillows – Free Patterns are so scrappy and fun! They make great decorations and gifts for friends too!! The patterns for both pillows are free and there are video tutorials as well!
I just love making seasonal pillows, especially when they are pillow covers – that makes them super easy to change out for different holidays. These Christmas pillows make a great set for your sofa or bed – make them both or just one! These pillows are nice and big too! They are 24″ so they are super cozy but if you’d like to make them a little smaller you can leave off the border and they will be 20″ pillows.
I love that you can also make these up as a scrapbusting project. These pillows are great for using up leftover Rolie Polie strips or 10″ stacker pieces.
I used my Christmas Adventure fabric for the prints in the pillow and Lori Holt’s Bee Cross stitch as the background. It adds a great bit of color to the background! I also trimmed my pillows in pom pom trim, don’t you love the color?!
I added decorative stitching to the pillows with my Baby Lock Sashiko machine too! I used red thread so it would really pop and outlined each block with the stitching. I love how it adds a hand stitched look to the design but it’s so much faster with the Sashiko!
I’ve partnered with Riley Blake Design on these cuties and I recorded video tutorials for both the pillows at their studio!
